This is a traditional technique of hand-decorating porcelain, which is not used much nowadays because of its laboriousness. It is manifested by the unmistakable slightly ragged edges. Since the decoration is under the glaze, it is not subject to mechanical damage and is permanent. Individual products may differ slightly from the image.
